This project's aim was to grind forest waste residuals left post harvest. The grinding enabled utilization of the residual fibre instead of burning it. The fibre was delivered to Merritt Green Energy and/or Domtar. The avoidance of pile burning resulted in fewer greenhouse gas emissions and contributed to the achievement of B.C.'s and Canada's climate change targets. The biomass was used to make green electricity, which can displace
electricity that may have been generated by fossil fuels in other jurisdictions.
