Step 1: Read the Program Guide
The Program Guide is your primary resource for understanding the funding opportunity and application process. It includes important information about eligibility, funding criteria, project requirements, timelines, frequently asked questions, and what you will need to prepare. Please read the applicable Program Guide before contacting FESBC or beginning an application.
FESBC 2026-27 Fibre Utilization Funding Program Guide
This funding allows more residual fibre to be used instead of being left behind or burned. Funding supports innovative uses of uneconomical fibre from Crown land, including fibre from fire and insect damaged forests, while helping reduce emissions from open burning.
FESBC 2027-29 Wildfire Risk Reduction Funding Program Guide
This funding supports projects that reduce wildfire risk and help communities across B.C. become more resilient to wildfire. Projects must align with provincial wildfire risk reduction priorities and standards. Closing Date: November 30, 2026
FESBC 2027–2029 Forest Ecosystem Rehabilitation Funding Program Guide
This funding supports projects that rehabilitate forests impacted by wildfire, pests, disease, and other forest health challenges. Projects aim to restore forest health, improve wildlife habitat, increase climate resilience, and support the recovery and utilization of residual fibre. Closing Date: November 30, 2026

Once you have reviewed the specific Program Guide that best suits your project, connect with the FESBC Operations Manager for your region. If you’re not sure on which program is right for you, our Operations Managers can answer questions specific to your region or proposed project, provide additional guidance that may not be covered in the Program Guides, and help you better understand whether your project may be a fit for FESBC funding. This conversation is an important step before beginning your online application.
