The activity for this project included managing two stands for more natural open forest conditions with the goal
of reducing wildfire threat and restoring habitat and rangeland conditions for several wildlife species and domestic livestock. Decades of fire suppression has led to the in-growth of too many trees, which had created
extreme fire risk and degraded wildlife habitat. This treatment was implemented in conjunction with one of the
local forest licensees to optimize cost efficacy.
