This project involved the recovery and utilization of pulp logs from the 100 Mile House area that would otherwise be uneconomical to transport. The pulp logs were transported
to Cariboo Pulp and Paper in Quesnel, B.C. to be chipped and used for other products. Through the utilization of the pulp logs, the residual fibre generated from harvest activities was reduced by up to 50%, which lessened greenhouse gas emissions that would otherwise be generated through the burning of the residual fibre. Fibre utilization funding helps to provide fibre needed by secondary fibre users which maintains jobs and supports communities.
