CCR – Fire Hazard Reduction/Rehabilitation

Project Number: #WR0000121

This project's primary purpose was wildfire risk reduction adjacent to the communities of Redstone and Puntzi. The landscape level fuel break had a combination of stand rehabilitation treatments as well as primary fuel breaks created by cutting away dead lodgepole pine. Where possible, this uneconomic fuel was added to the CCR incremental haul program. Approximately 2000 ha per year will be cleared to make the landscape level fuel break where fire fighters can make defensive barriers next to the wildfires in this area.
