Forest Enhancement Society of BC Appoints a New Executive Director

The Forest Enhancement Society of BC (FESBC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce they have appointed a new Executive Director, Steve Kozuki, to replace Greg Anderson, who announced his retirement in July (See Communication Update No. 10).

Steve has a strong background in forest operations, silviculture, planning and policy within both industry and government. He brings experience as General Manager with the Council of Forest Industries, General Manager of Mackenzie Fibre Management Corporation, Timber Sales Manager with BCTS, as well as his most recent experience as Director Timber Pricing with the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development to his new role at the FESBC. Steve is passionate about managing forests and is very much looking forward to advancing FESBC’s goals in mitigating the impact of wildfires, improving forests and habitat, enhancing fibre utilization and improving the management of greenhouse gases.

Steve will assume the Executive Director position on October 16th, with Greg remaining on staff to ensure a smooth transition until the end of October. Both the FESBC Board and staff look forward to working with Steve in continuing to advance the environmental and resource stewardship of BC’s forests in the coming years. Welcome Steve!
